ABOUT

ME

Before I fell in love with advertising, I was a one-hit wonder with a single that charted on rock radio for one strange, glorious week in 2012. As it turns out, songwriting and copywriting aren't so different. Just like every pop song pretty much says the same thing ("I love you," "I hate you," "let's get wasted"), every ad says, "buy this product." So when I started writing my first ads, I was already used to having x-amount of space to convey a certain message, and finding interesting new ways to say it every time.

 

Before that, I had a career in activism that started with a non-profit for underserved BIPOC tweens that I founded my senior year of college. Somehow, it was spotlighted in a best-selling book with Cory Booker, which led to a move to New Jersey to run a national education non-profit in Newark.

 

And before that, I grew up in Washington, DC with free-flowing MAD magazines, Tom Lehrer albums, and Homer Simpson's mellifluous voice always wafting out of some room, somewhere. I think that's why I like making funny stuff, but my therapist says it's because I was ugly until I was 25. You decide!


In my free time, I write and produce songs, mentor copywriting students, and hang out with my dog, Scrabble.
